Lauren loves to take pictures of herself

Lauren loves to take the digital camera and start taking pictures.  Usually they are of her, but she also sneaks up on us and takes a lot of not so great pics.  The pictures are usually nostril shots of us.  We will spare you those shots.

I am thinking that her Aunt Rachelle must have taught her this skill.  I remember Rachie taking many a photos of herself.

Here are just a few of her latest pics:

Camping at Indian Henry

Last week we went camping with Hall's.  We were concerned that the weather might not be nice, but it turned out to be perfect.  This campground is located in the Mt. Hood National Forest.  See the map below for the actual location. (My sister-in-law posted about this camping trip.  You can read that blog post here.)

Push pin is the location of the campsite.

I think we need to buy a larger tent now to give our family a little more room.  Our current tent is a three man tent, but I think it is more for two adults.

This is right next to the Clackamas River and of course, the kids wanted to go see the river.  Uncle Wes took them to the river and Tyler came back with his shoes all wet.  Just like one of my scouts, they just can't stay clean or dry on a camping trip.  So, we tried to dry out his shoes over the first.  This picture is how Tyler's cousin Cate helped dry his shoe.

Trip to the Zoo

Nathan's company picnic was at the Oregon Zoo this year.  It was a lot of fun to go during 100 degree weather and not see any animals because it was soo hot!

Actually, we did see a lot of animals but we don't have any pictures to prove it.

The kids enjoyed taking a train ride around the park.

When we were there, one of the elephants was ready to give birth.  It delivered the next weekend.  Rachelle called and mentioned that they were there when the baby was giving birth.

Trip to the Oregon Coast

Since it was 100 degrees in Portland, I decided to take the kids to the coast.  The temperature was around 65 degrees.  A little cold for August, but the kids didn't care.

Tyler found what he thinks is a sharks tooth.  See that picture below.

For some reason, sand is attracted to these kids.  I think we found sand on them a week later.
