Spending Time with the Family

We love spending time with family.  I think it is our favorite thing to do.  There is always plenty to do when we go to Granny and Papa’s house.  Today we went on the boat and everyone had a great time.  Tyler brought his good friend Nathan and Greg and Sarah brought Sophie.  The weather was not ideal, but we can’t complain.  At least we had some sunshine.  Later this week we should be getting 90 degree weather.

Granny and Papa bought a new biscuit for the kids to ride on when we are on the lake.  It seats four people.  The fourth spot is in the back and it is the spot that everyone wants.  From that back spot, the kids can hold on and drag their legs in the water.  It’s fun to see them get more comfortable with the water.  The videos below show the kids having fun.  The first picture below shows ‘El Capitan’.  Ron is the driver of the boat and that is his normal position as he navigates to the lake.  Thanks for all the fun Ron!

Meredith came along for the ride.  She is close to 8 months now and is looking as beautiful as ever!  We are excited for this new baby girl to come and join our family.  We are still working on a name, but I am not too worried about that.  Meredith reminded me today that I still have plenty to do before the baby arrives.  One of those items is to paint the baby’s room.  I guess I better hurry up with that.

What would a family gathering be without some good food and homemade ice cream?  I think we have the old fashion vanilla ice cream making process down to a science.   We have it all the time.  Then we just add in our favorite topping and we are good to go.  I think I need to work on a good chocolate ice cream recipe now.  Any favorite recipes out there?
